Motorola Warranty Terms and Conditions

Scope of Warranty:

Brightstar Distribution Sdn. Bhd. warrants that the equipment, accessories and parts thereof collectively “Products” purchase from Brightstar Distribution Sdn. Bhd. will be free from all defects in material and workmanship under normal use & service for the following periods from the purchase subject to the Warranty Terms and Conditions set out below:

1 Year for equipment; 3 months for batteries; 1 year for chargers and 3 months for other accessories.

To Get Warranty Service :

  1. Portion B of the warranty card is to be returned by the customer to Brightstar Distribution Sdn. Bhd., duly completed within 14 days of purchase of products.
  2. The warranty card must be produced together with the faulty equipment or accessory of parts thereof when seeking repair.
  3. Photostated copies of the warranty card will not be accepted.
  4. This warranty does not include transport, delivery and handling charge incurred in the transportation of the equipment / accessory / part to from the customer’s premises or designated place.

During the applicable warranty period in respect of the defective equipment / accessory / part, Brightstar Distribution Sdn. Bhd., at its option, will at no charge repair or replace such equipment / accessory / part, as the case may be.

Warranty Exclusions Limited :

  • This warranty is valid if the equipment, accessory or parts is purchased in Malaysia and if the repair or replacement is carried out in Malaysia only.
  • This warranty supercedes any express warranty terms in the Brightstar Distribution Sdn. Bhd. booklet accompanying the equipment.
  • This warranty is not transferable, negotiable or assignable to a third party.
  • This warranty for equipment, accessory and part does not cover the following circumstances :-
    1. If the equipment / accessory / part was not purchased from Authorised Distributors in Malaysia or if warranty card does not bear the official stamp of Authorised Distributor, in Malaysia;
    2. If the damage to the equipment / accessory / part is or has been caused by accident, neglect, improper testing, Installation, adjustment, Operation, maintenance, alteration or modification of any kind, or spillage of food or liquid hazard, fire, flood, voltage fluctuation, faulty installation, acts of God, corrosion, rusts, stain or other cause arising or in connection with misuse, negligence or fault of the customer; or
    3. If the damage resulted from use of the equipment / part in other than their normal and customary manner, eg. in excess of their maximum specifications or operating instruction; or
    4. If the equipment / accessory / part is or has been installed, maintained, or tampered with or repaired by any person other than a authorised service centre technician or person authorised by the Brightstar Distribution Sdn. Bhd. or if the original identification marks have been removed or made illegible from the equipment / accessory part; or
    5.  All plastic surfaces and all other externally exposed that are scratched or damaged due to customer normal use; or
    6. If Portion B of the warranty card is not returned to Brightstar Distribution Sdn. Bhd. duly completed within 14 days of purchase date; or
    7. If this warranty card is altered or defaced in any manner whatsoever; or
    8.  If the accessories relate to external parts of the equipment such as antenna element, casing, control knobs / buttons, carrying strap and all other attachment; or
    9. If the equipment / accessory / part has been purchased not for the customer’s use and but used by him for hire or leasing purpose; or
    10. Operation or damage caused by ancillary or peripheral equipment not manufactured by Brightstar Distribution Sdn. Bhd. but used in conjunction with or accompanying the equipment / accessory / part; or
    11. In the case of equipment, if poor performance is due to bad reception or non reception of radio signals as a result of blind spots or in areas of poor signal strength; or
    12. Any other defects or faults which occur for reasons beyond the reasonable control of Brightstar Distribution Sdn. Bhd.

This Warranty does not confer any rights other than those expressly set out herein.

This warranty contains Brightstar Distribution Sdn. Bhd. sole liability with respect to the equipment, accessory, part sold and is given in lieu of all other warranties or representations whether statutory or otherwise, or whether express or implied, oral or written, which are specifically excluded to the full extent permitted by law, including without limitation, the implied warranties of merchantability and fitness for a particular purpose. Under no circumstance shall Brightstar Distribution Sdn. Bhd. liability exceed the purchase price of the equipment, accessory or part. In no event shall Brightstar Distribution Sdn. Bhd. be liable at law or in equity for any special, incidental or consequential damages arising out of in connection with the installation, use or failure of the equipment, accessory or part or any defect therein or any part thereof from any cause whatsoever including without limitation the negligence of Brightstar Distribution Sdn. Bhd. or its employees or agents.
